Midland Heart and Bespoke Construction Services are partnering to deliver 53 affordable homes on Sloane Street in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, bringing much-needed new housing to one of the city’s most historic neighbourhoods.

The development will provide 28 one-bedroom and 25 two-bedroom apartments, helping meet the City’s growing demand for affordable housing while supporting Midland Heart’s ambition to deliver 1,200 new homes across Birmingham by 2028 and 2,750 homes across the Midlands by 2030.

Located in the heart of the Jewellery Quarter conservation area, the four-storey scheme has been designed to complement the area’s distinctive character while providing high-quality, energy-efficient homes for local people. Residents will benefit from excellent transport links, easy access to amenities, and all that Birmingham City Centre has to offer.

Construction is already underway, with the homes expected to be completed in 2027.

Dan Barnes, Director of Development at Midland Heart, said:

“Demand for affordable housing across Birmingham remains incredibly high, so we’re delighted to be partnering with Bespoke Construction Services on our first development together to bring these much-needed homes to the city.

“This development will provide high-quality, affordable homes in a thriving and well-connected neighbourhood, helping more people access a safe, secure place to call home.”

Ollie Stapleton, Development Director at Bespoke Construction Services, said:

“We are delighted to get this deal over the line with Midland Heart after many months of hard work. This is an important milestone for Bespoke in scaling up our partnership model with Housing Association and Registered Providers throughout the UK. Midland Heart are a key part of that strategy in the Midlands.”

The scheme was introduced by Prepared Development Partnerships Limited and represents the first development project delivered through the partnership between Midland Heart and Bespoke Construction Services.
